In this really quickly thrown together smoothie bowl I put 1 bunch of read #dandelion (thus the not so appealing colour), 1/2 zucchini, 1 small pear, 1/2 frozen banana, a small bunch of fresh mint, 1 tsp #maca powder and spelt milk. Topped with more fruit, #hemphearts, #beepollen & mint.

Hello there... long time no see. 🙂 Here's a warming & comforting golden #tsampa porridge. I used a mix from @tsampafood that contains toasted barley (aka tsampa), oats & millet... #notsponsered by the way, just in love with the product. 💛

I really like the nutty flavour and find that it keeps me full for quite a long time. Barley is an ancient grain that's been forgotten by most people (mainly used for beer & whisky making these days). In Tibet, where the toasted grain is often prepared with black tea & butter, it has a long tradition as a breakfast item. It's known for its benefits regarding blood sugar & cholesterol levels.

In this version I used: 1/2 cup tsampa muesli mix, 1 cup millet milk, 1 tsp coconut oil, 1 tsp #turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp cardamom, pinch of black pepper (to boost bioavailability of curcumin), 1/2 mashed banana, 1/2 orange (chopped) --> brought to the boil and simmered for approx. 5 mins, stirring constantly.

Toppings include orange, banana & kiwi slices, hemp hearts, pumpkin seed butter (my new addiction 😅), dried barberries & puffed quinoa.

2017 was a year full of surprises, new beginnings, struggles & opportunities. Some storms hit me hard, but there sure was a lot of sunshine, too.

The tree in this picture is the walnut tree in my family's garden. Whenever I struggled, going home to just stand there and look at this beautiful sturdy tree helped me put things into perspective.

I am grateful to everyone who made this year so special. Thank you to all the wonderful people who encouraged me to work on my own projects and pursue my dreams.

Merry Christmas! I hope you're all well and enjoying your holidays with your loved ones. This is my favourite Christmas cake that I make year after year for my family. The updated version of the recipe is up on the blog (link in bio). It's been quiet over here for a while now - thank you for your patience! I honestly had a very refreshing break from this platform. However, I missed you dearly and can't wait to catch up with all of you soon!

There will be regular posts again but I've decided to focus more on my blog, food photography - and meals other than smoothie bowls! 😅 I am aware that this may not attract as many likes or followers as before. But I've realised that's not what I'm here for. I'd like to create content from my heart. ❤ There are so many thoughts I'd like to share and these captions sometimes just seem way too short. Chai-spiced oatmeal with figs & almond butter! Ever since autumn - with it's rainy days, wind and cold nights - has arrived I find myself craving warm foods more often. 😋 Comforting bowls of oatmeal are one of my number one choices!

What I love about oatmeal is that variations are pretty much limitless. For this one I infused my nutmilk with chai tea before cooking the oats in it. I also love to add grated veggies or fruits like carrot or apples alongside yummy warming spices like cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg or ginger. Not to forget my all-time favorite pumpkin puree! How do you guys jazz up your oatmeal?

Ingredients: 1/2 cup oats, 1 cup homemade chai-spiced infused almond milk, 1 tsp flax seed, pinch of salt --> brought to the boil, then simmered for 10 mins.

Toppings: whole & mashed raspberries, chopped date, almond butter, fig, hemp hearts, puffed quinoa

What better way to start a Sunday than with a delicious raspberry smoothie bowl - I was lucky enough to find some very last fresh raspberries on the farmer's market and turned them into a refreshing treat! My secret ingredient, yet again, is silken tofu. 😊 Just love it in smoothie bowls especially when combined with lemon juice & zest. So light, fluffy and flavourful! Have a relaxing Sunday everyone!
